The Women’s Soccer team competed against a very tough St. Joseph’s LI team, as they were defeated 0-3. In the loss, senior goalkeeper, Kate Malytska (Brooklyn, NY ), kept her team in the game, as she had a total of 17 saves from 20 shots on goal she faced. Freshman forward, Frances Tapia (Brooklyn, NY), was closes to scoring as she had 2 great shots on goal that required key saves from the opposing teams’ goalkeeper.

For the Eagles, Elyse Tomasello opened up the scoring in the 33^rd minute as she chipped a ball over CCNY’s keeper. Ciara Grennen made it 2-0 right before half time as she took advantage of a rebounded shot to shoot into the empty net. Dana Carney finished of the scoring as she converted a penalty kick in the 75^th minute.

After a slow week, the Beavers will look to get back on winning ways, as they will face SUNY – Old Westbury on October 27^th, Kings College on October 29^th and Polytechnic on November 1^st.
