Washington's Double-Double Not Enough As Beavers Fall To Hunter

New York - The City College of New York suffered a tough defeat by the hands of Hunter College by a score of 67-82 on Sunday afternoon at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.


Sophomore forward Ben Washington (Brooklyn, NY) led the Beavers offense as he finished with a team high 18 points while grabbing 10 rebounds to achieve a double-double. Xavier Gonzalez (Brooklyn, NY) added 12 points to his team’s efforts, while Vincent Roberts (Baldwin, NY) and Israel Vickers (Queens, NY) each scored 10 points.  


Maxwell Dubois had a phenomenal game off the bench for the Hawks as he finished with a game high 23 points. Izzy Hoffman added 14 points and a game high 5 assists, while Mark Courtien and Rocco Rubino finished with 11 and 10 points respectively.


With the loss, CCNY drops to 7-17 (3-10 CUNYAC) in the season, while Hunter improves to 12-13 (8-5 CUNYAC).

Women's Indoor Track and Field
The junior had a solid meet at the Danny Curran Invitational. She finished 27th in the long jump with a distance of 4.35 meters and followed it up with her best performance of the meet, finishing 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.88 meters.

The freshman played in all five games for the Beavers this week, batting an even .500. His 9-for-18 effort included six runs scored, two doubles, an RBI, a walk, and three stolen bases, as he improved his season average to .370.
