Bookmark and Share
New York, NY – The Lady Beavers will begin its bid for the NCAA championships Sunday (February 21, 2010) at the Hunter College Sports Complex.  The young team showed promise and apparent progression throughout the season and with enough momentum and strong play from key players, the women are capable of upsetting top teams.

The Lady Beavers will once again need a strong outing from Junior Center Ashley Straughn (Freeport, NY) who averages 17 points per game and leads the team in rebounds.  Freshman Forward Taryn VanEsselstyn (Chatham, MA) will provide the supporting role on the inside game as she has the whole season.  Sophomore Guard Donika Rexhepi (White Plains, NY)will be the source of outside scoring and strong front defense.  Senior Guard Rynae Rasley (Arizona) and her consistent hustle play will be one of the key factors for the Lady Beavers, she also leads the team in assists.

The women’s team is led by Coach Kevin Clifford, Assistant Coach Jeffrey Attard and Women's Basketball Consultant and Athletic Director Jackee Meadows.

The City College pride is being called out for support at the Hunter College Gym this Sunday at 3 pm.  All are encourage to come and support the Lady Beavers.
