Results
New York, NY – The Men’s and Women’s Indoor came in 3rd in the CUNYAC Championships held at the 168th street Armory last night (February 28, 2010). Through constant progress during the year, the Men’s and Women’s Indoor teams did extremely well at the pinnacle of the indoor season.
The Lady Beavers came out strong in distance medley, coming in 3rd (Polanco, Agbodji, Brown, Dixon). The men followed suit and came in 3rd place on the same event (Soto, Persaud, Espirit, Kashem).
There were several great individual performance. Freshman
David Vaughan (Hollis, NY) came in 1st in the high jump at 1.77 meters. Junior
Rollesscia Hurd-Rosa (Bronx, NY) also came in 1st in the women’s triple jump event recording 10.22 meters.
Junior standout
Alain Saint Dic (Brooklyn, NY) had another good day coming 4th overall in the men’s 55-meter dash (6.75) while recording 12.69 meters in triple jump (2nd place) and 5.96 meters in the long jump, earning him 3rd place. Understudy and freshman
Paul Dedewo (Bronx, NY) came in 2nd overall in the 200-meter event with a time of 22.73.
Dedewo also came in 2nd in the 400-meter run (50.51).
Vaughan came in 4th in the 400-meter (51.31), 4th in the 200-meter dash (23.18), 4th in the men’s long jump (5.95 meters). Junior
Sergio Soto (Queens, NY) came in 4th in the 1500-meter (4:28.10) and 4th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:00.68. Sophomore
Eric Persaud (Brooklyn, NY) followed suit in 6th place with a time of 18:35.83. Freshman
Zisan Kashem (Brooklyn, NY) came in 8th clocking in at 19:26.56.
Hurd-Rosa also came in 2nd in the long jump, posting 4.83 meters and 3rd in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10.44. Junior
Annemarie Agbodji (Bronx. NY)tied 3rd with Rosa in the 55-meter hurdles with the same time while coming in 8th in the 400-meter with a time of 1:06.05. Freshman
Asha Brown (Brooklyn, NY) came in 7th at the 400-meter event (1:04.75) and 10th in the 200-meter event. Freshman
Stephanie Ravello (Bayside, NY) came in 6th overall in the 200-meter event with a time of 27.28 and also 6th in the 400-meter (1:03.11). Senior
Nicole Bailey (Mt. Vernon, NY) came in 3rd in the weight throw with a distance of 9.29 meters.
