New York, NY – Senior Outside Hitter Terrence Tsui (Woodhaven, NY) gave a classic performance in his last home game Tuesday night against conference foe Lehman College (12-8).  Tsui ended a five set thriller with a tough serve that resulted in an ace ending the fifth set 21-19 (25-30, 30-26, 23-30, 30-26, 21-19).

“It was fitting the way Tsui ended the game.  I’m really happy for him, not just for how well he did tonight but for how well he has done this whole year.  As a coach, there’s nothing more you can ask for and from a player.”  Coach Palatulan commented on his only senior.

The win however was a result of an overall team performance.  Sophomore Setter Jonathan Aguirre (Corona, NY) had a spectacular game with 67 assists 12 digs and 4 kills.  Freshman Middle Blocker Nick Siriban (East Meadow, NY) led the attack once again with 26 kills, hitting .388, 10 digs and 2 block assists.  Freshman Outside Hitter Matthew Ng (Bayside, NY) followed suit with 21 kills, 15 digs and 3 assists.  Junior Outside Hitter Manorge Joseph (Brooklyn, NY) had another game high 17 digs while adding 9 kills for the Beavers.  Sophomore Middle Blocker Johnson Ho's (Glen Cove, NY) performance should also be noted as he provided strong front-row presence with 14 kills (.300), 4 digs, 2 blocking assists and 1 blocking solo.

The Beavers have won three consecutive matches, the last two of which ended in five set thrillers.  The men’s volleyball improved to 8-15 for the season.  They will travel to NYU-Polytech Thursday and play at 7 p.m.
