New York, NY – Men’s volleyball (7-15) won against Purchase College (4-15) last night in a five set thriller (30-23, 23-30, 30-22, 30-24, 16-14). The Beavers showed solid character coming in to the fifth set, winning some tough rallies and battling through difficult point losses.
Freshman Middle Blocker
Nick Siriban (East Meadow, NY) led the attack with 17 kills while providing 3 digs and 4 blocking assists. Freshman Outside Hitter
Matthew Ng (Bayside, NY) also had a good day, added 12 kills (.320) and 6 digs. Sophomore Middle Blocker
Johnson Ho (Glen Cove, NY) had 9 kills, 4 digs and 3 blocking assists. Junior Outside Hitter
Manorge Joseph (Brooklyn, NY)held the Beavers defense with 12 digs. Sophomore Setter
Jonathan Aguirre (Corona, NY) once again provided the team with a solid performance, dished 39 assists, 4 kills, 5 digs and 4 blocking assists.
Purchase College was led by Peter Witkowski and Dan Grabowski-Clark with 16 kills each.
The Beavers will face Lehman College today at the Nat Holman gym located in Marshak Hall. All are welcome!
