CCNY Blasts Three Home Runs To Defeat NYU-Poly 10-3

Brooklyn, NY – CCNY defeated NYU-Poly by a score of 10-3 at MCU Field last night, as they improved their overall record to 12-12 (4-2 CUNYAC) while NYU-Poly dropped to 3-14 (3-9 Skyline Conference) for the season. 

Seniors, Raymie Fernandez (New York, NY) and Willis Fernandez (New York, NY), and Junior Ruben Angeles (New York, NY) all homered in the game as they combined to drive in seven of the ten runs for the Beavers.  Senior Pavel Cruz and Freshman Sal Carillo each added an RBI while Senior pitcher Chris Torres (1-1) had a stellar performance for the Beavers, going six strong innings, allowing only five hits, two runs, and striking out three Blue Jays.
 
The Beavers will rest today and play a crucial doubleheader against CUNYAC rival The College of Staten Island on Saturday, April 17.  The doubleheader is set to start at 12:00 PM.

Women's Indoor Track and Field
The junior had a solid meet at the Danny Curran Invitational. She finished 27th in the long jump with a distance of 4.35 meters and followed it up with her best performance of the meet, finishing 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.88 meters.

Baseball
The freshman played in all five games for the Beavers this week, batting an even .500. His 9-for-18 effort included six runs scored, two doubles, an RBI, a walk, and three stolen bases, as he improved his season average to .370.
