BROOKLYN, NY – The CCNY Baseball team was swept in their CUNYAC conference 3 game series against 1st place CSI.  The losses dropped CCNY to 12-15 (4-5 CUNYAC), meanwhile CSI improved to 23-8 (8-1 CUNYAC) for the season.

The Beavers lost 13-1 in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday.  CCNY was held to only three hits as Pat Gale of CSI dominated the Beavers.  CCNY’s lone run came on a homerun off the bat of Sophomore Daniel Perez (New York, NY), his first of the season. In the second game, the Beavers lost 14-3, as the offense was again shut down by CSI pitching, this time it was Sophomore Paul Ciccazzo who held the Beavers bats at bay.

On Sunday, the game was played at CCNY’s home field (MCU Field).  It was a close game but unfortunately the same result for the Beavers.  Despite a strong outing from Junior Ruben Angeles (New York, NY) on the mound (nine innings, ten strikeouts), CCNY was unable to hold a 9-8 lead in the last two innings of the game.  Angeles helped his caused by driving in three runs and scoring another.  Senior Willis Fernandez (New York, NY) had a 3-4 day with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Next up for the Beavers is a home game with Drew University (MCU Field) on Thursday 4PM.
