Bookmark and Share
New York, NY – CCNY’s Baseball team (7-9) continues to struggle, losing both games of a doubleheader against St. Mary’s College (9-16) last night in Maryland.

The Beavers had a 3-run lead on the first game until the bottom of the fourth when St. Mary’s scored 6 runs.  Despite scoring one more on the top of the fifth, the Beavers were unable to complete a come back, losing the first game 5-7.

Clean-up batter and sophomore Daniel Perez (New York, NY) had two hits, and brought in two RBIs.  Senior Derek Faucher (Bradford, PA) also had two hits and scored a run.  Sophomore Joel Jimenez (New York, NY) (2-2) recorded the lost for the Beavers.

In the second game, CCNY failed to redeem a four-run St. Mary’s charge in the bottom of the first.  CCNY managed only one run on the top of the fourth, falling 1-4 to St. Mary’s for the second time in the day.

Junior Reuben Angeles (New York, NY) scored the only run for the Beavers.  Angeles posted one out of the four hits from the CCNY’s roster.  Sophomore Taylor Schomann (Clinton Corners, NY) (1-1) recorded the loss.

The Beavers will host a doubleheader against conference foe Baruch College tomorrow in Randall’s Island (Field 53).
